MoneyGram Runs for ROSAesROJO

By Hannah McCorkell

In November of last year, 25 MoneyGram employees took part in a virtual race to support the Dallas- based nonprofit organization ROSAesROJO. MoneyGram sponsored the event with the dual purpose of encouraging physical activity within our organization and to support ROSAesROJO’s mission to deliver health and well-being education to Hispanic Immigrant women and their families.

Leading the charge was Jorge Jimenez Arranz who is a Quality Assurance Analyst II and a virtual employee based in the United States. Out of the 408.7 miles that were accumulated by team MoneyGram, Jorge logged an impressive 144.7 miles and secured third place in the running/walking category for the entire race, which had 474 participants.

When asked why he decided to participate in this race, Jorge shared that it can be difficult to participate in activations when you don’t have a MoneyGram office nearby. “The virtual race supporting ROSAesROJO was a great way for me to get more involved with the company & RED Team activities.”

Jorge's commitment to health and wellness extends far beyond the virtual race. He is a seasoned triathlete and runner and is currently gearing up for a triathlon this July. His passion for health and wellness is evident in his training for marathons and Ironman competitions, showcasing a level of dedication that is truly inspiring.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to Jorge and the other 24 MoneyGram employees who participated in the race. As a result of our RED Teams’ participation, ROSAesRojo was able to sponsor eight additional women to participate in their impactful programming.
